From October 26th to November 2nd, 2025, our school had the honor of hosting 15 students and teachers from Wieland-Gymnasium in Germany for a week-long international exchange program. During the opening ceremony, the German students performed two songs, including the Chinese classic “Tomorrow Will Be Better”, which symbolized the warm friendship and lasting bond between the two schools. The atmosphere was both touching and uplifting.
The exchange program featured a diverse and engaging curriculum. On-campus activities included making traditional Taiwanese snacks such as scallion pancakes and nougat, as well as crafting shrink-plastic keychains during Art Class. The German students also joined our second-year German elective and participated in interdisciplinary courses focused on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), engaging in meaningful collaboration with our students.
Off-campus excursions further enriched the experience. The itinerary included visits to the Spring Pool Glass Studio, TSMC Innovation Museum, the 17-kilometer coastal trail in Nanliao, Green World Ecological Farm, and Beipu Old Street. These outings were guided by our students in both Chinese and English, offering the guests deeper insights into Taiwan’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
This exchange not only broadened our students’ global perspectives and enhanced their language abilities, but also allowed the German visitors to experience the warmth, creativity, and diversity of Taiwanese education and culture. The strong bonds formed and fruitful results have laid a solid foundation for future collaboration between the two schools.
